Accepting your Invite
Check your inbox for an email titled "You've been invited to share some media in Plex"
Click on the link, "I accept the invitation" on the email.
Choose one of the following:
- Continue with Google, Facebook, or Apple
- Click "Sign up with email" and create an account
Once you've created your account, you can now access DMovies by going to https://app.plex.tv
Navigating DMovies on Plex
Once logged in, on the upper left of the screen you will see three tabs, each tab will show you different kinds content.
- Home - Will show you the next episodes on the shows you're watching, recently added movies, and more.
- Movies - Films, short films, documentaries, and other features.
- TV Shows - Multi-episode TV shows.
On either the Movies tab or the TV Shows tab, you can brows by different subsections.
- Recommended - Summarized view of recently added and released films, as well as top films in certain categories.
- Library - Browse all films on DMovies
- Collections - Browse groups of films that belong together (sequels, MCU, Harry Potter, etc..)
Once you select something you want to watch, click on the title. In the next screen, there are different options you can apply before watching. Some common things you want to check are:
- Audio - Language of the audio in the movie/show
- Subtitles - Subtitles to be shown while watching (can be set to "None”)
Click Play to start the show/movie.
Adding DMovies (Plex) to your Smart TV
Most smart TV's run Android TV, if you are using an Apple TV the steps should be similar.
- On your smart TV, go to the app store, search for " Plex", and download it.
- Open the Plex app and you will be greeted with the following screen.
- Click on
SIGN IN. You will now see some steps to link your already made Plex account with your smart TV, together with a 4 character code.
- Using your computer that you've already signed onto DMovies with, go to
www.plex.tv/link and type in the 4 character code in the box then click "Link".
- Your account should now be linked and you can enjoy watching DMovies on your smart TV.
Changing Streaming Quality
When watching something on DMovies, you may want to try changing the quality depending on how fast your internet connection is. For example, if the movie or show is buffering frequently, you should lower the quality in order to watch smoothly. To do this, follow these steps.
- On the bottom right of the scree, click on the Playback Settings button. You can see the button here as I've highlighted it in yellow.
- You will now see the following pup-up in the screen
- Click on "
QUALITY" and select the quality youd like to watch at.
- Click on the Playback Settings button again to close it and let the movie load at the new quality setting.
