I’ve been re-reading old blogs, dating back to the turn of the century. Quirky little things. Quite spiky in places. I was always busy doing something. Celebrity spotting. Photography. Shopping for pens, ink and other stationery items. I reference people I no longer remember. Although memory is sometimes impeded by cryptic notes that no longer make sense. Anonymity was a thing!
There was such a great blogging community back then. People commented on blogs, shared their favourites in blogrolls. Somehow we found each other and formed a virtual band of bloggers. It was a great moment to be online.
Many of those blogs are gone now, including mine - only resurfaced via Wayback Machine. We’ve all scattered to the four winds. Some bloggers are no more.
Life back then was relatively carefree. Looking back, I had few worries. Occasional job losses. But very few real concerns. I’m on a quest to excavate that sassy, irreverent and dry witted blogger who has been on sabbatical for a while. To reconnect with the me I was back then. Always on some quest or other. Tapping into my personal Zeitgeist. Reporting on the tiny details and minutiae of my day. That blogger is making a comeback!
