Though the fog comes

Written 9/5/2002

Though the fog comes Into the valley so thick And the night denies light It’s entrance There is a bright feeling Inside my heart As I walk this road then Stop for a moment and contemplate The mists all around me With noon light they glow The silhouettes of black trees Stand guard over my road Under their protection I continue on Looking for a warm place to sleep I wander this valley in awe Of it’s mysteries so deep As above me, holy Alexandria glows That city mortals rarely know Once I walked as I do now On the roads of that alabaster tower So high above this ground But now I walk down on earth In the calm, cold night Looking for a place that’s warm
